Questions and Answers about Arm Warmers pattern

Creating a knitting pattern for arm warmers?

Question: I want to start knitting arm warmers for the chilly months, and the only double pointed needles I have are size 2. I'd like to know how many stitches to cast on for a regular women's size tubular 'arm sock' without the awkward thumb hole. And if you know how many stitches I'd

Answer: The size of the needle doesn't tell me your gauge.

Knit up a 4" by 4" gauge square and count the number of stitches in four inches. Next, measure the arm at the widest spot where you want to put the gauntlet. Then use this formula:
(circumference

OneTen Arm Warmer

OneTen is the new kid on the cycle clothing block from UK distributor Hotlines, one of the biggest cycle gear distributors in the UK. Among their range of 10 road oriented items are these rather swanky looking arm warmers.

The OneTen arm warmers are manufactured using a circular knitting process which results in a one piece, seamless construction. In addition, the weave style is varied in key areas such as the elbow region to provide a more 'fitted' shape and one tailored to the cycling position. A mix of micro-denier polypropelene and polyamide gives these arm-warmers a pleasantly soft and stretchy feel.

I was initially quite sceptical about the one size fits all concept given that my long and skinny arms don't play nicely with a lot of arm warmers out there. The feeling of an arm warmer creeping ever southwards, just minutes into a ride, is something I've come to dread. However, the fabric and construction of this offering combine to create an arm warmer that seems to mould itself to whatever shape your arms may be. I was able to stretch them right over my shoulder joint and they would just stay there even when riding in the drops. Furthermore, the lack of seams or any pesky labels makes these some of the most comfortable arm warmers I've yet to wear.
