Three businesses broken into; clothing, cash, camera stolen
LAWRENCE — Thieves broke into a Hampshire Street clothing store and stole over $3,300 worth of merchandise, police said.
The break into AJ Fashion, 38 Hampshire St., was one of three business burglaries reported Monday.
Burglaries were also reported at Richard's Furniture, 25 Water St., and Tacos Lupita at 505 Broadway.
Alvaro Sanchez, owner of AJ Fashion told Officer Dean Murphy he closed the store at 9:30 p.m. Saturday until Monday at 11:45 a.m. when he noticed a side window interior damage to the building.
He said 30 pair of "Kilogram" jeans valued at $1,000, seven New Era baseball hats valued at $150, and four assorted shirts valued at $200, were missing, along with 10 Aquasport watches of undetermined value.
A store security video shows a man slowly taking the merchandise from each section of the store.
Police said the man appears to be 5 feet 5 inches tall, slim, wearing blue jeans, white sneakers, a bright blue winter jacket, and a grey hood and a black ski mask that left only his eyes exposed.
